It’s 9:34 am. My 9:30 am alarm just went off. Even though I went to sleep at 4 am I needed to get up early enough to wake sharn at 11. They need to be on the road by 12:30 to make an appointment.
I may or may not nap later to make up sleep. We’ll see.
I broke down last night and went to YouTube.com in my mobile browser to play some bed time sounds. I might need to block that site in my browser.
I also installed twitch last night and I’ve been trying to figure out how to watch an archive of last weekend’s legendary hbomberguy stream ever since. So far the technology has thwarted me.
No! Wait! I tell a lie. I was able to watch a short clip of when Alexandria Occasio Cortez said hi. That was pretty cool.
It’s now 10:15 and I’m feeling more awake. Time to start my day.

I made my regular meal of cheesy eggs, coffee, and pancakes. This time I sliced up a sausage from last night’s sausage and sauerkraut dinner and (since there were no more leftover pancakes) some fresh pancakes.
For a while, back in the last of my tech support days, I was a master pancake maker. Then college and the rest of life got in the way. Recently I’ve been using online recipes to make pancakes but today I just improvised the recipe. I didn’t use any measurement of any kind of any ingredient. They turned out better than usual in my humble opinion.
While I was cooking I was also microwaving a breakfast for Siarl. I woke them up at 11:00 am exactly (or very nearly 11 anyway) with a plate of microwaved eggplant parmigian, one of Siarl’s faves.
We got them out the door and on the road on time and then I took another shower. Three showers in a row is not something that normally happens with me and I’m 100% sure I did it because I didn’t want to reveal in a public blog post that I was walking around like an unwashed filthy animal.
While I was having a shower I had some ideas for what ought to happen next in my science fiction novel. I’d been resisting writing that stuff but I really don’t want to forget it. And what’s the harm anyway? I’m not going to spend hours and hours writing notes instead of the novel. If I get into a habit of doing that, that’s when I’ll impose a personal moratorium on notes.
One of the things that motivated me to break this unspoken (even to myself I think) “no notes” rule. is that today is Monday, the day I release the next chapter of my continuing prose fiction adventure The Heroes Of The Green City.
I have 4 unreleased chapters written as a buffer. Releasing the latest chapter today will put it down to 3. If I want to keep my buffer I’ll want to write another chapter. I’ll more than likely finish it today.
Now that I’ve got this blog I think I’ll release the chapters here as well.
First I’m going to have an apple or two. My blood sugar feels a bit low. I should also put the leftover pancakes away.

Siarl is back from their errand. While they were gone I published the latest chapter of Heroes of the Green City on Wattpad. I’m up to three now. I’d forgotten that today was MLK day and am wondering if I shouldn’t have published today. For now I’m going ahead and acting like its a normal day.
I’ve also written for about 30 minutes so far today. I’m going to do my best to get the remaining hour done before I start nodding off like last night. I’m not writing more of the sci fi novel yet. I want to finish another chapter of Heroes Of The Green City first.
I think I’ll be moving this blog to a dedicated host sooner rather than later as well as picking up a domain. It’s not a good idea to give all my traffic to someone else’s site. Right now this blog is hosted for free on wordpress.com. I’d also like the option of having an email list, more control over the look and features of my site, and so on.
I’ve been going through the archives of my new writing hero’s (Dean Wesley Smith’s) blog posts. Here’s what I’m reading about the moment: https://www.deanwesleysmith.com/killing-the-sacred-cows-of-publishing-i-dont-need-to-learn/
Normally I would agreed with everything he says and only start disagreeing with him after a year or so after I find my next hero (😈😈😈), but I’m a little confused. He recommends writing from my creative side, which I’m doing. But if I’m doing that, what’s the point of going to workshops or classes to learn more about the craft of writing? Surely I’m not meant to consciously use any of these tricks because I’m not consciously directing the story at all, right?
I’ll think about it.
When Siarl got home I gave them the last of the sausages from last night, cold. I’m going to clean up the kitchen, maybe do a few of the animal feeding chores, and have a peanut butter and jam sandwich before moving onto what’s next, which is probably (hopefully) more writing and then drawing.

I’ve done all the chores I need to do but I’ve yet to do more writing, drawing, or ukulele playing. I’m pretty sure I want to add 15 minutes of ukulele to my daily commitments. I had sooooo much fun playing that thing last night.
I just learned another Steven Universe episode dropped. It’s an hour long season finale. I am so tempted to watch it before I do more writing or anything else. I really love that cartoon.
I will be strong though! First I’ll make dinner and then I’ll finish my commitments!

Ok. You caught me. I watched the episode before writing for an hour. Why do I say ridiculous things? I did draw for 30 minutes before watching the episode.
And, wow, that episode was sooooo good y’all. So good.
Also burgers. Burgers are good. I’m gonna make more burgers.

It’s now morning and I’m still getting out of bed. I wrote for an hour total yesterday. It got so late I was too sleepy to keep writing. I did write 1065 words though.
